What can you suggest as an alternative to a PM benchmark when it is a whole school expectation to benchmark K-6?

  1. Your school is using a synthetic phonics program. The research says you need fidelity to these programs (regardless of the program you choose). The Simple View of Reading has Word Recognition at it's core, along with language comprehension. When you follow this evidence based model of reading, you simply CAN NOT use the 3-cueing system of whole language. The PM benchmark is an assessment of the 3-cueing system....
