Can you give us some insight into the Phonics Screening Check?

The Phonics Screening Check is for Year 1 students. It contains 20 real words and 20 pseudo (fake, nonsense) words. Eg. boat/plote It is a great source of data collection for teachers and schools. It may uncover things we didn't know about particular students, or help us to identify areas to improve our teaching. It should only take 5-7mins per student, and it's not stressful for them.
