Fluency is an essential skill that students need to become
highly effective readers. It requires students to combine multiple reading
strategies with accuracy and speed to produce increasing processing volume.
Fluency, however, is only loosely addressed in most reading classrooms.
In this course you will learn to:
define exactly what reading fluency is;
understand why it is critical to make sure
students have sufficient fluency when they read;
understand how we can assess fluency in both
formal and informal opportunities;
provide best practice feedback and structured
support for all students to improve their reading fluency
knowledge and begin to focus on one of reading’s most important skills in your classroom!
Let your students soar!
