Learning Intentions and Success Criteria: The keys to lesson success!

Category:

Description

Many teachers focus on what they want their students to
produce rather than what they want them to learn.  As a result, students “become accustomed to
receiving classroom teaching as an arbitrary sequence of exercises with no
overarching rationale” (Black & William, 1998).

In this course you will learn to:

·
Define
what learning intentions and success criteria are;

·
Identify
opportunities and benefits of using learning intentions and success criteria in
our own classrooms.

·
Understand
the connection between learning intentions and modelled delivery techniques

·
Workshop
how to frame learning intentions and success criteria for units of work and
individual lessons

Bring structure and purpose back into your
lessons, and your students will thrive as learners!
